Reimagining CS Convening 1
The Reimagining CS Pathways Project will convene representatives from K-12 ed, higher ed, and industry in the U.S. to develop community definitions of (1) what CS content is essential for all high school graduates and (2) pathways for continued CS learning. We aim to:
- Make recommendations for revisions to CSTA K-12 Standards and AP CS courses
- Clarify alignment of and develop model pathways for CS courses, including content that fulfills a high school graduation requirement, introductory post-secondary CS courses, and AP CS courses
This page is intended to compile information for convening participants. Please do not share this information publicly.

Logistics
Rachael shared the following logistical information in a before-you-go email. If you have any questions, please contact her at rachael.steacy@csteachers.org.
CSTA wants to keep all participants safe, and we recognize that some participants are immunocompromised or provide care to people at especially high risk for infection. To support this aim, please do not attend if you are sick or have come into recent contact with those with contagious diseases. Additionally, we will ask you to complete a brief form attesting that you have received a negative COVID antigen or PCR test result within 24 hours of the event. We will have tests available on site if you are unable to test or complete the form in advance.
We are staying at the Chicago Athletic Association Hotel. The address is 12 S Michigan Ave, Chicago, IL 60603. It is a 12 minute walk to the Microsoft Offices, where the meeting will take place on both days. If you haven’t received your confirmation email from the hotel, please reach out to rachael.steacy@csteachers.org. You will be required to present a credit card at check-in for incidentals.
If you are flying: Chicago has two airports, O’Hare and Midway. This website provides public transit directions depending on where you are traveling from, or you can get a rideshare or cab at your own expense.
If you are driving: Valet is available at the hotel for $79/day. You can also search for cheaper off-site parking. You will be responsible for these costs.
CSTA will cater breakfast and lunch at Microsoft’s office on both Monday and Tuesday. Breakfast will begin at 8:00 am, and our meeting will begin at 8:30 am. You are welcome to continue eating breakfast at the start of the meeting.
We will also host dinner on Monday evening from 6:30 – 8:30 pm at Quartino, a lively, casual Italian restaurant located in Chicago’s River North neighborhood. There will be a cash bar available if you’d like to purchase your own alcoholic beverages.
We will accommodate all dietary restrictions as indicated in registration forms.
You will be responsible for other meals while traveling on Sunday and Tuesday evening. We hope to offset meal and other travel expenses with a flat $100 travel stipend.
Those requesting CSTA travel funding will receive a $100 stipend from CSTA to assist in covering your ground transportation and meals outside of those being provided. CSTA will be distributing this stipend payment approximately 3-5 business days after your arrival in Chicago. You will receive an email from us through our vendor, Tremendous, with directions on how to access your payment. Please look for this email early next week.
Location: Microsoft: Aon Center, 200 E Randolph Drive, Suite 200, Chicago, IL 60601

Upon arrival to the Aon Center, you will need to check in at the security desk, show a photo ID, and get a one day paper badge.
- If you are arriving via the Randolph Street entrance, take the escalator to the Mezzanine (upper lobby) to access even number floor elevators. Take the elevator to the 2nd floor.
