An overlooked piece of K–5 computer science education is the creation of an exciting, inclusive computing culture throughout the school. Leveraging student leadership organizations is a profoundly impactful way of promoting culturally responsive education in the school and local community. In this session, participants will look at how CS student leadership organizations in elementary schools are key resources in promoting, recruiting, and sustaining participation in computing throughout the school and in local communities.
