Again, three weeks have passed since I last wrote here. It is not that I am inactive… I have baked some lovely baked goods for a charity sale hosted by a friend, worked on many recipes and progressed with my nutrition courses. But I struggle to find the time to maintain all fronts: the courses, the blog here, all the social media and all the rest (work, house, family…).
Anyway, as I did for Autumn (sorry I missed Winter!) I thought it would be again a good idea to have a list of the vegetables and fruits which are in season now so you will know which aliments will brings the most nutrients to your body because they are grown the most natural way possible and not in a hothouse.
For Spring, you will find among the vegetables:
- Artichokes
- Asparagus (rather at the end of Spring)
- Beetroot
- Belgian Endive
- Broccoli
- Brussels Sprout (in March)
- Butter Lettuce
- Cabbage
- Carrot
- Cauliflower
- Celeriac
- Cucumber
- Fennel
- Green Beans
- Jerusalem Artichoke (until March)
- Leeks (until March)
- Onions
- Parsnips
- Peas
- Pepper
- Potatoes
- Purple Sprouting Broccoli
- Radishes
- Rhubarb
- Spinach
- Spring onions
- Watercress
The fruit list is shorter:
- Banana
- Bramley apple
- Grapefruit
- Lemons
- Nectarine
- Orange
- Pears
- Pomegranate
- Stawberries
Herbs grow also in season:
- Chervil
- Rosemary
- Tarragon
